Gracia Kasoki Katahwa

Gracia Kasoki Katahwa is the mayor of Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, the most populous borough in Montreal and one of the most diverse in Canada. In the 2021 municipal elections, she entered the political arena for the first time and succeeded in defeating an elected official in the area for 12 years. She thus became the first black woman mayor of a borough in the Quebec metropolis.
Also a nurse clinician and manager, she took care of the population of the borough for 12 years. She was able to face the important challenges of the health crisis.

Passionate about social justice, Mayor Katahwa is passionate about economic and social development and is putting her track record as an accomplished administrator and manager to work to improve the well-being and quality of life of the entire population of Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.
